Latino is more of an "ethnic group" the race.
Ethnicity = Latino Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia, Dominican, etc.

What are you talking about. Latinos in Latin America and elsewhere. Latin America from Mexico to the bottom of Argentina. I really have no idea where you heard it. Latino-Americans and Hispanics are two different things when you talk Wat. Hispanic is a person of Spanish origin. JUST Latino is from Latin America.
It refers to the cultural identity in Latin America, but almost all countries of the Spanish and Portuguese in the United States.
